Description

As organizations become increasingly dependent on internet connectivity, many networks utilize multiple ISP connections to improve performance, increase bandwidth utilization, and provide redundancy. Properly configured load balancing allows traffic to be distributed across multiple internet connections, maximizing available bandwidth while improving network reliability.

This course provides a practical, hands-on approach to implementing load balancing on MikroTik RouterOS. Students will learn the most commonly used load balancing methods, understand their advantages and limitations, and gain the skills needed to deploy them in real-world environments.

Topics covered include:

  • Equal Cost Multi-Path (ECMP)
  • Policy-Based Routing (PBR)
  • Routing Rules
  • Mangle Rules
  • NTH Load Balancing
  • Per Connection Classifier (PCC)
  • Load Balancing Design Considerations
  • Failover and Redundancy Strategies
  • Troubleshooting and Best Practices

Through hands-on lab exercises, students will learn how to configure, test, and troubleshoot multiple load balancing methods using MikroTik RouterOS. The course focuses on practical implementation, helping students understand which approach is best suited for different network requirements.

By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently deploy load balancing solutions that improve bandwidth utilization, increase network resiliency, and support production network environments.
